If you have ever been in the situation where you wanted to create a post without dealing with going into your admin dashboard, you may have used QuickPress. QuickPress allows you to post content without accessing all the features usually provided by the admin dashboard.

QuickPress is basically a “no-frills” editor that is useful for dashing off a quick post. It does not have the editing buttons you will find in your admin dashboard. Notwithstanding this, if you know html you can insert text formatting commands in the QuickPress editor.

Although QuickPress is a slimmed-down version of the dashboard, it does allow you to include some types of media and plug-ins. It is intended to be a means for quickly creating a post which you can later return to and edit with the full admin dashboard if you choose to do so.

To use QuickPress, simply click on the QuickPress box and type in your text. You won’t be able to add SEO or other categories as you usually can in WordPress. Once you’re done, you can either save it as a draft or publish the post. QuickPress is especially useful when you know you won’t want to add anything but text in a post, anyways, and so you have no need to go into the admin dashboard.
